Out and About Dog Training
Have you ever said "my dog is perfect in class, but horrible on walks"? This new class takes you and your dog into real-life situations to teach reliability despite the distractions of everyday life. Classes take place at parks, trails, in town, or at shopping centers. A special obedience training class just for pit bulls, boxers, rottweilers and other bully breeds and crosses five months and older. Rally for Fun Class
This is a sport for dogs of all sizes and people of all ages! While you improve communication as a team, your dog will develop better obedience skills, and all in a fun, relaxed, and supportive environment. Rally is a sport performed primarily at a walk, mostly on leash, through a course of sequentially numbered stations. Each station has an exercise to perform. An example of a station might be stop, have your dog sit, walk around him, and continue to the next station. In this class you will learn all the different Rally signs and how to perform them - all for fun!

Trails & Tails
Join The SPCA for Monterey County for a beautiful back country dog-training hike! The SPCA is offering an exciting new class that lets you explore nature, enjoy amazing scenery, and put to use all the great behaviors you’ve taught your dog. The SPCA sits on over two hundred acres full of beautiful trails with views that let you enjoy all that Monterey County has to offer. This new class offers a one or two hour hike where we walk, work on leash manners, and practice recall using long leads. We will also experience first hand the motto “a tired dog is a good dog!”
During this group setting you and your dog will form lasting friendships while you exercise and socialize with other hikers and their pets. Please join The SPCA for our exciting new Trails & Tails class!

Canine Good Citizen Training Class
This class helps prepare you and your dog to pass the Canine Good Citizen test. Dogs must already have basic obedience. The CGC tests the following: accepting a friendly stranger, sitting politely for petting, welcoming being groomed and examined, walking on a loose leash, walking through a crowd, sit and down on command and staying in place, coming when called, behaving politely around other dogs, reaction to distraction, and supervised separation.
