The SPCA's 15th Annual Wag n’ Walk
Saturday, May 1st, 2010

The SPCA's 2010 Wag n' Walk took place Saturday, May 1st at Shoreline Park in Monterey.  It was an incredible, record breaking year!  The event raised over $102,000 for The SPCA for Monterey County - thank you to everyone who helps us rescue all animals in need in our community.

Top Individuals:

  •  Debbie Stein in 1st place with donations of $10,500
  •  Karen Stein-Gorman in 2nd place with $2,135
  •  Simona Prochazka in 3rd place with $1,565
  •  Leigh Jeter in 4th place with $1,480

Paws for a Cause at the Hyatt Regency Monterey Resort and Spa
Every Thursday 4:00-7:00 pm

The Fireplace Lounge Patio is a scenic pet friendly venue that looks out over the Hyatt Regency’s golf course. It’s a great place to relax, enjoy good food and beverages while socializing with other dog lovers and their pets. 15% of all beverage and food sales will benefit The SPCA for Monterey County and the SPCA will be on-site with adorable adoptable dogs the fourth Thursday of every month.

Paws for a Cause takes place every Thursday from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on the outdoor patio of the Fireplace Lounge.

The 17th Annual Wild Celebration

The SPCA's 17th Annual Wild Celebration is a fabulous event supporting our Wildlife Rescue and Rehabilitation Center, the only full-service wildlife rescue center in Monterey County.  Enjoy great food, fine wine, and unique live and silent auctions, all to support the rescue of injured and orphaned wild animals in need. 

The 17th Annual Wild Celebration takes place Sunday, October 3rd from 2:30 to 5:30 pm at the beautiful Holman Ranch in Carmel Valley.  Please call 831-373-2631 x203 or email us for more information.

New This Year!  Select auction items will be open for pre-bidding starting on Wednesday, September 8, and will close at the silent and live auctions on Sunday, October 3. The First Tuesday of Every Month

Visit Chili's the first Tuesday of every month to support your SPCA!  With each flyer presented, Chili's will donate 10% of your total bill to The SPCA!  This amazing offer is only valid the first Tuesday of the month from 11:00 am to 10:00 pm. at Chili's in Seaside or Salinas, and you must bring this flyer with you.

Macy's Shop for a Cause
October 16, 2010

Your SPCA for Monterey County is selling special tickets for Macy’s Shop For A Cause!  This fun event takes place Saturday, October 16, 2010.  Tickets cost only $5 and 100% of the proceeds of each pass purchased through The SPCA for Monterey County go directly to help animals in need.

Each Shop For A Cause ticket provides you the opportunity to save on your purchases all day, on Saturday, October 16th, at your local Macy’s store. Shoppers can save 10-20% in most departments (including sale & clearance items) plus an additional 25% off a single purchase. Shoppers can also save on their online purchases on Saturday, October 16th with the code in their shopping ticket. Visit macys.com for store hours.

It's "Howlin' Good" at Cima Collina

It's the Dog Days of Summer at Cima Collina Winery!

Visit the Tasting Room with your pet and receive a complimentary tasting for two people during the month of August. They will snap a photo of your pet to be featured in their upcoming photo gallery.  Sweetie, the winery Jack Russell terrier, posed for the Howlin’ Good Red label. The SPCA's Ninth Annual Pet Telethon
Aired Saturday, Jan. 30th, on KION TV46!

Thanks to you, The SPCA is celebrating another successful Telethon for the animals.  This year's event raised over $135,000 for the animals and dozens of pets have found new, loving homes.  Your SPCA is completely independent and we do not receive funding from any other animal welfare agency - everything we do is made possible by donors like you.

The SPCA's Annual Pet Calendar Contest

Your pet can be a superstar in the annual SPCA Pet Calendar!  Imagine your beloved cat, dog, horse, or other adorable pet on the cover of our 2011 Pet Calendar.  Thirteen pets will grace next year's monthly pages and one very special superstar will be featured as our cover pet.  All qualified entries will appear in the calendar and everyone who enters receives a free calendar.

Victorian Inn Love Me, Love My Dog

Monterey’s Victorian Inn offers dog tired travelers and their four-legged friends a pooch-friendly package that comes with two treats. ‘Love Me, Love My Dog’ includes cozy, specially designed accommodations for two humans and one dog, souvenir water bowls, tail wagging doggie snacks, a beach toy and – for the pet owners – continental breakfast buffet and an evening wine and cheese reception. DESCRIPTION:  Training for new or current volunteers to assist The SPCA Wildlife Rescue & Rehabilitation Center staff during the very busy baby bird season.  Volunteers will learn feeding techniques and hear what it's like to volunteer during this busy but rewarding time.  Please call or email to confirm your attendance.  Like the Wildlife Center Volunteer Orientation, this training is required for all new volunteers, but you can begin volunteering at the Wildlife Center before attending.  Please contact us for more information.

HUG-A-PET TRAINING

DESCRIPTION:  Volunteer with your pet to visit residents of convalescent homes and other care facilities.  Please call the volunteer number to schedule a Hug-A-Pet training appointment.
