Call The SPCA if you see any animal in distress. Our Humane Investigations team responds to hundreds of reports of cruelty and neglect each year. A simple call can make a huge difference in the lives of animals.
Donate
Donate to help rescue animals in need. The SPCA’s Humane Investigations Department receives and responds to over 1,000 cases of reported animal neglect and cruelty each year. We are the only agency working locally to peotect animals from cruelty, abuse, and neglect.
Prepare
In 2008, your SPCA evacauted and sheltered over 500 animals during the Summer wildfires. The best way to help pets in a disaster is to prepare yourself in advance. Click to learn how you and your pets can be prepared for a local disaster. You can also prepare for the future care of your pets through our Guardian Angel program.
Spread the Word
Become an advocate for your local, independent SPCA for Monterey County. Educate your friends and family about issues related to animals. Invite people to visit our website. SPCA's Commitment
Each day, SPCA Humane Officers receive reports and investigate cases of:
- Animal poisoning
- Malicious & intentional maiming
- Deprivation of food, shelter or water
- Cockfights
- Organized dog fights
- Permitting animals to live without proper care and attention
- Animal abandonment
- Other violations of State Humane Codes
