SPAY AND NEUTER CLINIC
The SPCA for Monterey County provides
low-cost spay & neuter services, vaccinations, leukemia tests and
microchips for dogs and cats in our community. Our hours of operation
are Monday through Thursday 6:00 a.m. to Noon & 1:00 P.M. to 4:00
P.M. (closed on
holidays). Our fees for services are as follows:

Animals must be 4
months of age or older for surgery. Please contact us if
you have any questions regarding the age of your pet. |
There are no additional fees for office visits. Please contact us at

Surgeries are by appointment only. Pets with confirmed appointments
must be dropped off between 6:00 a.m. and 7:00 a.m. on the day of
surgery. |

Our staff is available to perform these services Monday through
Thursday, 9:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. or 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. Please call
ahead to confirm the availability of our veterinarian. These
services (with the exception of the feline leukemia test) are also
available at our off-site microchip & vaccination clinics. See our

MICROCHIPS $25.00
Microchips are small transponders about
the size of a grain of rice. They are injected under the skin
between the shoulder blades and are a permanent form of identification
for your pet that can provide a free ticket home in the event your pet
is lost or stolen. The SPCA is offering low-cost microchips to our
community in an effort to reduce the number of lost pets coming in to
shelters. The $25 fee includes a lifetime registration for your pet.
Please bring additional names, phone numbers, etc. as alternative
contacts for your lost pet, in the event you are not available when your
pet is found.

All dogs over four
months of age residing in Monterey County are required to have a current
rabies vaccination for their own protection as well as protection for
our community. Dogs with current rabies vaccinations are eligible
for a dog license, the purchase of which is required by law in all
jurisdictions in Monterey County. Contact your local Animal
Control Department for more information.
