SURRENDERING YOUR PET

The SPCA for Monterey County's doors are open to all animals in need. If you need to surrender your pet, you may bring him or her to The SPCA on any day of the week (Saturdays and Sundays included) from 9 am to 3:00 pm, including holidays.

How to Surrender an Animal to The SPCA for Monterey County

  1. Bring your pet to The SPCA lobby (please keep dogs on leash and cats in carriers).
  2. Provide your name and contact information to a caring Customer Service staff member.
  3. Provide your pet's previous Veterinary and vaccination records, if possible. 
  4. Fill out a personality profile for the animal you are surrendering.
  5. Pay $25 surrender donation (if you are unable to provide the entire $25 donation, SPCA staff will work with you on options).
