Leslie grew up in the Bay Area and was introduced to his love of nature by touring the tide pools at the Fitzgerald Marine Reserve in Moss Beach. His family raised rabbits and has a desert tortoise named “Turtle” who is around 60 years old! Leslie was the Project Manager of the contractor for our 2024 capital improvement project. While on the project, he grew to love the people, the space, and the animals. He was a Barn volunteer for the duration of the construction project as well.

Leslie is a Master Falconer and flies a 13-year-old Harris Hawk named Iron Maiden. He has flown and rehabilitated many hawks, falcons, and a golden eagle, which he flight-trained on the SPCA’s beautiful natural wildlife habitat.

He shares his life these days with his family, his bird, and a Uromastyx named Pineapple. His hobbies outside of falconry include gardening and freediving.

Leslie holds a California contractor’s license B and C-10. He has a Master’s degree in Construction Management from Purdue University. He is excited to help the SPCA in its ever-expanding mission in Monterey County.
