Your Donated Items Help Save Lives!

Item donations are a wonderful way to support the SPCA Monterey County if you're looking for an alternative to monetary gifts. Donating items like pet food, towels, toys, or gently used goods for our Benefit Shop directly helps the animals in our care and supports our programs. Every donation—big or small—makes a difference and helps us stretch our resources further to care for pets, wildlife, and barn animals in need

We gratefully accept in-kind donations as a meaningful way to support the animals in our care. Donations can be brought to our Adoption Center daily between 11 am and 5 pm.  

Below are some of the items we need most:

• Pet Treats
• Pet Toys
• Pet food for our free Pet Food Bank
• Towels
• Lightweight fleece blankets
• Leashes, harnesses, and collars
• Peanut butter (Xylitol-free only, please)
• Chew items like pig ears, bully sticks, Nylabones, and Kongs
• New metal litter pans and litter scoops
• Poop bags
• Lightweight cat trees in good condition
• Paper shopping bags with handles 
• Cat litter 
• Potty pads
• Pillowcases
• Or visit our Online Wish List!

For Wildlife and Exotics:

• Hand mirrors
• Warming mats
• Feather dusters (needs to be natural feathers, like ostrich)

Items We’re Not Able to Accept at This Time:

We’re grateful for your generosity! To make sure donations go where they’re most helpful, please note we are not currently accepting the following items:

• Sheets and pillows
• Rugs
• Human infant or baby formula
• Dog diapers
• Cat trees that are very worn out or too heavy to move easily
• Bird toys (we have an ample supply)
• Crocheted items (can snag on animal nails)
• Horse saddles, saddle pads, or horse blankets

Please note, we are unable to accept:

• Bed pillows (throw pillows in good condition are welcome!)
• Mattresses or bed frames
• Helmets
• Stained or ripped clothing and linens
• Damaged rugs
• Children's items, including clothing, car seats, playpens, and toys
