Right now, the SPCA is caring for 187 rescued puppies and kittens, with more arriving every day. We need your help: join our foster team.
Foster volunteers provide the bridge between rescue and a forever home. The SPCA provides all the medical care, food, and supplies, but we are running low on one thing: you.
Fostering isn't a lifelong commitment, it’s a life-saving one. Whether you have a spare bathroom, a guest room, or just a little extra space in your heart, you can help.
The Support: The SPCA provides everything, food, litter, bedding, medical supplies, veterinary care, and skilled advice.
The Love: You provide the snuggles, the late-night feedings, and the safe space for a pet to heal or grow.
"We truly feel a deep connection with these young animals and the joy of helping them have a strong and supportive home life before they’re adopted,” say Tim and Karen O’Shea, who have fostered over 80 kittens. “All of this happens with the support of an amazing team at the SPCA, who go out of their way to make the experience easy and very supportive.”
You can help by taking in bottle-feeding kittens and puppies, mother cats and dogs with their litters who need a quiet place to nurse, or adult pets recovering from lifesaving surgeries who need a soft place to heal during their rehabilitation.
“All the things you need, food, litter, medical supplies, vet visits, care, and support from the team, are provided,” add Tim and Karen. “It makes the journey with these young kittens so much easier than you can imagine, and the joy of seeing them develop and thrive in your home is indescribable.”
The SPCA is also offering a free Bottle Baby Workshop on Saturday, June 13 from 10 am to 12 pm at the SPCA Learning Center.
The SPCA continues to focus on affordable spay/neuter to prevent unwanted litters, with over 7,400 low and no-cost surgeries performed last year alone.
