Christy grew up in a ski resort town in the beautiful mountains of Sun Valley, Idaho. However, rather than skiing, Christy spent most of her childhood riding horses in 4-H and Pony Club. The family household consisted of many animals from fish, to hamsters, rabbits, cats, dogs and horses. She moved to the Monterey Peninsula in 1988 to work as a working student under the tutelage of top event horse trainers Bea and Derek Di Grazia. Christy's working student position evolved into working as their head groom/assistant trainer for 12 years. Her work consisted of caring for their show horses, riding, as well as bringing her own event horse up through the levels from novice to advanced and to finally compete in the Rolex Kentucky Three Day Event. From there, Christy moved on to work with Benson Carroll, a successful and well respected hunter/jumper trainer. She worked for Benson for 15 years, managing the stables at home, riding, teaching, as well as caring for all of the horses. In 2015, Christy accepted a job offer as the SPCA Stables Manager, and when the stables transitioned to another nonprofit, Christy stayed with the SPCA and began her career with the SPCA Benefit Shop. 

Christy loves working with the customers, volunteers, and staff at the Benefit Shop, as well as seeing old friends come through the doors searching for unique treasures.

In her spare time, Christy enjoys spending time with her cat Jasmine and dancing west coast swing as well as many other dances.
